Welcome to the City
Philadelphia. The troublesome city where it seems there are more gang related crimes than births every year. It is unique, and has its crowning virtues. At night it paints a beautiful picture of the urban life… For those of Philadelphia Private High School things seem great, they're in a good school. Until you get inside their lives. A twisted painting of lies and deceit, you meet the cheating husbands and boyfriends, the backstabbing best friends you thought you knew.
Nothing will ever be the same. Then, there is high school. The rite of passage for any teenager, right? Wrong. Most anyone would say it’s the first eighteen years of your life, where you just take it up the ass. There is a bright side, but then, most people would be lying if they said it was easy.
Philadelphia is notorious for street life. There are the homelesson one block and the upper-class the next blok over. The middle class seem invisible and the lower class takes over the majority of the population. Kensington, home to shootings, drugs, and the poverty line; the select group of kids who didn't mess it all up and were accepted into the Private Schoo, the Kesnington Scholars. The variety is consuming, and you encounter everyone on a daily basis. The life of the adults is not much better than those of their rebellious teens. People's facade's are harder to break, and when you finally breach them, you'll wish you never had.
Start the year here having it all, end the year nothing. Try not to make enemies with the wrong people or you could end up with a bullet in your chest. One thing is for sure: you will never come out the same way you came in.
