Brunswick was, for the longest time, known for nothing but their exceptional tall tales and ghost stories- until Camp Brunswick came along every summer. Not many know, but the camp has been around for nearly seven years. Of course, that’s probably because people only noticed it’s location right off Kennebec River a few years ago, thus spreading it around to friends and peers until it became what it is now. Kids from all over Maine want to attend Camp Brunswick during the summer- then again, some don’t want to attend, but do anyways. For trouble makers, it’s strict rules are said to whip them into shape. Usually it doesn’t work.

Campers come from various backgrounds; abusive fathers, wealthy step mothers, tragic divorces, castles, mansions, cardboard boxes, England, France, fatal car crashes, greedy siblings, conceited home lives, you name it and there’s at least one kid around Brunswick that’s experienced it. Don’t get me wrong, some of the campers are actually there to just camp; not get away, not escape evil step parents, not by force. Some of the campers are just like you and me; shy, quiet at times, just looking for a good times, etcetera. But remember, one bad apple can ruin the whole bunch. Be careful with who you make friends with, some of the kids around camp are manipulative and greedy; the last thing they're looking for is a friendship.

There are four cabins for campers to be sorted into. Each cabin has distinct qualities, whether the counselors and staff actually realize it. To be perfectly honest, the counselors are very ignorant-- even if they do see something, they wouldn’t say anything. The staff, on the other hand, your ass is pretty much theirs as a mantle piece if they catch you breaking a rule. Campers just have to be really careful about their actions-- if they’re against the rules, that is. Brunswick, honestly, has a strict set of enforced rules, most unimportant and very unnecessary. Campers have been known to be quite the rebellious crew, so I suppose we’ll see how it all goes along this summer.


Summer of ‘07, for most campers, is meant to be special; they are, quite literally, ready to party. With that in mind, staff have extra eyes on all attendants, careful for their careless, reckless rule breaking and slip-ups on paying attention. There are many ghost stories and tall tales that are supposedly big around Camp Brunswick and its surrounding area, but not many will have anything of it. Some campers, though, have their summer fun by playing pranks on those who do believe it. Are you about to fall for one of your mates scares or are you going to be part of the scaring?
