We flyin' first class up in the sky
Poppin' champagne, livin' the life
In the fast lane,
I won't change by the Glamorous
Oh flossy, flossy
Welcome to New York's upper east side, when wealthy teenagers live the glamorous life complete with chuffered cars, designer clothes, and of course, tons of drama. The life they live is surreal, unimaginable to most. They get everything they want, from the latest Prada bag and the best friends, to each and every guy they desire. They can often be seen out late at night clubbing, partying, and sleeping over- sometimes with each other. During the day, they frequent Starbucks, Barneys, Elizabeth Arden's Red Door salon, and class, occasionally.
Wear them gold and diamond rings
All them things don't mean a thing
Chaperones and limousines
Shopping for expensive things
With glamor comes the best clothes, friends, and opportunities. Or is it the other way around? Either way, you can always find Upper East Side teens- boys and girls alike- shopping at the three Bs: Barneys, Bendel, and Begldorf. Almost everything they own has been bought at one of these three places, from La Perla underwear to Armani suits and Anna Sui bags. But remember- it takes more than just great clothes to make it with New York City's A-List.
I be on the movie screens
Magazines and bougie scenes
I'm not clean, I'm not pristine
I'm no queen, I'm no machine
Parents here in New York City don't monitor their children's behavior, choosing instead to turn their backs on all of the risque behavior- drugs, sex, alcohol, and ridiculous spendings, often using their own credit cards. Because the more glamorous this life may look, the more you'd be surprised to discover that all is not as it appears. No, New York's teenagers are under constant pressure to get into colleges like Harvard and Yale, behave well in from of any and all of the city's prestigious adults, and they are constantly on the verge of nervous breakdowns.
I still go to taco bell
Drive-thru, raw as hell
I don't care, I'm still real
No matter how many records I sell
Anxious to discover the reality of the glamorous life? Meet the queen bees and the wannabees, the hotties and the naives. Well, you'll teach them, won't you? Jump into life in New York City and party alongside the most popular teens of the A-List, but always remember, no one can stay at the top for long. All looks well with NYC's high schoolers, but what's under the surface, only a true insider would know. Ready to be that insider?
