The Character:
Full Name: Eliza Layne Croxford
Nicknames: Elle, Layne
Portrayed By (PB): Mischa Barton
Age: Seventeen
Birthday: October 13th
Wealth Status: Old money, extremely wealthy.
Neighborhood: Ilê du Soleil
Job/School: Eleventh Year
Clique: T.United
Appearance:
Eliza's figure has always been a particularly small one - not because of how much she eats or how much exercise she gets, but because she simply has awfully small bones. Her complexion has always been slightly pale and it usually goes pink and burns instead of tanning, which Eliza has always found a big problem. Although sometimes acts modest and doesn’t shout it off of rooftops, Eliza knows she’s good-looking and wouldn’t think twice about taking advantage of it. She has light brown hair with natural highlights framing her face. The style of it tends to vary, as she gets bored of things awfully quick, including styles. She rarely gets more than an 5 centimetres cut off the ends, however, so it usually sticks to just past shoulder-length.
Eliza's eyes are a bright blue colour, and fairly intense if you look directly into them. Like many other girls, Eliza is a big fan of mascara, and takes a tube of it in her pocket almost everywhere. There is never a time when she isn’t seen with makeup on, even though she could be just as fair and beautiful without it. She takes extreme pride in her looks and goes through ridiculous lengths to make sure she is in her prime.
5'6 ft. Although the girl is fairly skinny for her age, she still has a completely ordinary height for a senior, although she's slightly taller than a fair few. Eliza has never been insecure about her height, even when she was young and looked quite awkward. Her parents insisted she play basketball simply because she was tall, but she just grew to hate the sport. Though she’s already tall, few days go by when she isn’t seen in heels or stilettos. Always dressed to the nines, nothing without a designer label touches her body. She is a perfect example of why one should never judge a book by its over – looking put together and collected on the outside betrays her personality to fierce extremes.
Personality:
What is there to like about Eliza Layne? Well, if you know the real her…absolutely nothing. If there ever was a definition for a lying, cheating, selfish whore, it’s Miss. Croxford. Coming from a wealthy family, she was raised to be just what she became, a spoiled brat. Nothing is too vicious for Eliza, as long as she benefits herself. A queen of manipulation, she plays everyone she knows like pawns, moving them around in a cruel little game where no one wins but her. As long as you associate with Eliza, you’re teetering on a hill, and you’re going to fall fast.
When one first becomes acquainted with Eliza, she comes off as one of those beautiful, posh, preppy girls who rule the world and everyone wants to be them. She has a knack for playing the role that a person wants to see. If you want to meet a sweet, giving, young lady, then that’s who she will show you, at least until she’s got you under her spell. The moment Eliza gains trust or approval, she busts out of her act and shows her true self. The real her is greedy and vicious, to name a few. She’s beautiful, but poisonous. However, she’s as addicting as the drugs she takes. Once you get a taste of Eliza, there’s no going back. Many have tried to tell her off, or rid themselves of her plague, but she simply won’t have it.
Eliza is the girl that all of the popular girls hate. Because she matches them in looks and wit, it is hard for them to make an impression on her. She simply doesn’t care what they think of her, and their taunting is returned in harsh manners. Had it not been for her ‘don’t give a shit’ attitude, she might fit in perfectly with them, which bothers them most. More than once people have told her that she is “unfit” for the human race and should be banned from communications with real, feeling people. Such comments were shrugged off and dismissed with rolled eyes and sneers.
However, since her arrival at the local high school, her parents have kept her on a strict leash. She is to improve her behavior and her academics, or her share of the inheritance is gone. As a result, Eliza is trying her best to reform herself, keeping her mouth closed and trying not to do lines off of toilet seats. The transition has been the biggest difficulty of her life so far, but she is doing everything in her power to keep going strong, if only so she will benefit in the end. Her new high school is seeing a part of her that the rest of the world has never known…A reserved and almost kind Eliza. But don’t get to comfortable with it, since she is bound to break eventually.

History:
Born to a family of old money in France, Eliza instantly understood what it meant to be wealthy. She had a normal enough childhood for someone of her status – Go to tutors, go to dinner parties, never see her parents, and get anything she could possibly want. But life gets boring when everything is handed to you and you have to acquaintances except for other guppy children who are told how to live. It’s no surprise that Eliza felt the urge to rebel. When she was twelve, she smoked her first joint with a group of rogues she met on the streets of London. Like so many stories go, a mere puff of marijuana turned into so much more in very little time. Before she was fifteen, Eliza had done ecstasy, acid, and dabbled in cocaine. There was nothing stopping her. She had all the money she could ever need, and no parents to forbid her of what not to do.
To her older brother, she was an angel. Ever since she was little, she’d been the perfect actress, blaming things on the butler or her little sister who didn’t know any better. It was always an act for Kyle, who had no idea that his darling sister was so troubled. At one point, a friend of Kyle’s informed him that he had seen Eliza dressed in less than appropriate clothing, leaning into car windows with sultry looks. The accusation sent her brother into a fit of denial and his friend nearly ended up in the hospital. But in the end, he stumbled upon the unquestionable. Eliza forgot to hide her stash one day and Kyle found it, no longer able to push aside thoughts of his sister as innocent. No matter how much she threatened him, her brother went to her parents and they sent her to rehab at an institute in Germany. But with her charm and will to play the part of a healthy, rehabilitated girl, she was out before the month was up. Of course, she went right back to her old ways.
However, it wasn’t long before her parents discovered that her habits had not died. Deciding to uproot her from all of her connections, the Croxfords made the move to Monaco, sending her to a real school for the first time in her life. Having never been anything but homeschooled, her parents made strict rules for how she was to behave and made the crucial decision to take away her inheritance if she messed up again. So here she is, at Pierre’s Art Academy, forced to put on a mask until she can rightfully claim her spot in her parents will. Eliza hates the people at her school and doesn’t belong at all, but she has no choice but to go along with this sick act and pretend to get along with them.

Pulling a hair tie out of the bun her tangles had been in all day, Bethany teased her curls so they would fall perfectly on her bare shoulders. She sat alone in her more than equipped senior dorm, where she had chosen to stay rather than having her parents get her an apartment of her own. The sense of community that came with dormitories always comforted her, and she had more than enough friends living on their own if she ever felt the need to get away from the scene. Beth had been away all summer, vacationing in Australia with her parents, visiting her mother’s sister and her family. It had been absolutely exquisite, a place she had always wanted to visit. But now that she was back, the senior couldn’t help but feel like she had missed out on some things in Florida. First of all, she had done a horrible job of keeping in touch with her friends. What with the vast time difference and all, it had been easy to fall into a pattern of not calling those she cherished back at school. Now she was back, and one of the first things she’d done was extend an invitation to her closest friend, Konner O’Riley.
Maybe – probably – it was just her, but Beth had always felt a little uneasy around him. Though he’d been her absolute best friend and biggest supporter for the past three years of her life, there was something about him that made her stomach lurch when she caught his eye. Normally, she tossed the feeling aside and acted like nothing was different, but this time was different. Bethany hadn’t even heard his voice in the past few months, but they’d just started texting again and that was enough. Distracted and nervous, the generally calm girl was going into panic mode. She only had half an hour to get ready and get to the movie theatre and nothing seemed like the right attire for the occasion. Did this even count as a special occasion? Worries of any changes he might have foregone over the summer choked her thoughts, forbidding her to think of anything other than how the night would go. What if they didn’t get along anymore? Maybe he would notice some change in her mannerism since the last time they’d seen each other and shut her out. The more she tried to think of other things, the more anxious Bethany got. What if Konner had a new best friend? What if he had a girlfriend? The last thought brought her back to reality and she tried to shake it from her mind. Something like that wouldn’t bother her, right? It would be perfectly alright.
Having finally calmed down, she shuffled through her closet and found something suiting. A deep green tube dress that flowed out after clinging her chest and waist. It was chic but casual at the same time, not insinuating anything she didn’t want it to. For a bit of flash, Beth slipped into silver heels and opened her jewelry box. Clasping a Tiffany’s charm bracelet around her waist, she topped the outfit with a simple heart necklace her grandmother had given her for her thirteenth birthday. Everything in order, she grabbed her purse and headed to the movie theatre, where she would be meeting Konner.
Beth had been nervous about being late so she’d allowed herself plenty of extra time to get there, and as a result she was ten minutes early. Taking a seat on a bench, she sat patiently waiting for her friend. Desperate thoughts returned in her spare time, and she hoped that she hadn’t gotten too dressed up for their rendezvous. Nothing would be more embarrassing than having him show up in everyday wear while she had planned her outfit ever so delicately. It was strange for her to be so nervous about meeting a friend, but she swore to shake the feeling once and for all.
