Hmmm...If you want Charlie can have been a really close friend of his before Jason leaves. They could've grown up together or something and Charlie gets really pissed off when Jason leaves without saying anything to him. && Now he could still be really annoyed at him.
Heh...I can't think of anything else at the moment but it's just a suggestion. xD
