Let’s just stop
Drop everything
Normandy, California. Promises of sunshine, sandy beaches and the hottest members of the opposite (and same) sex you could possibly think of, right? But what’s that? Oh, that. Your baggage. Ah, nobody cares. Everyone in Normandy has baggage.
I'll keep dreaming
Not another word sweetheart
Nothing is perfect, but it has to be someday
So I'll keep dreaming
We have to be someday
Perfection is something unattainable. Everyone in Normandy strives for perfection, though. From their perfectly manicured lawns, to their impeccable outfits, to the talented kids that seem to be the ones making the big breaks in the music industry to the Ivy League scholars, they seek perfection. What is the cost of perfection? Is it worth the divorce you got three years ago that caused your oldest son to hate you? Is it worth the thousands of dollars invested in plastic surgery, guitar lessons and the boyfriend you stole from your best friend?
Stop and think. Is Normandy REALLY for you with its pressures of being perfect? The rate of teenage suicide and eating disorders is high here. The divorce and cheating rates are high here, as well. Why though. Why is everyone painting a façade of perfection? It’s to hide their secrets, of course. Or maybe it’s the fact that if they pretend to be perfect, then Normandy will BE perfect, right?
Right. It’s got to be.
Ignoring what we've felt,
Overlooking what we've done,
No awkward silences, no hiding any truths
Ignoring what we've felt,
Overlooking what we've done,
What do you say?
All egos aside, what do you say?
But if you really think that you can hold up to the social pressures, by all means, welcome.
Welcome to Normandy—where NOTHING is what it seems…
